Power🔋book 2: Ghost👻 interesting turn of events💣

Tariq St. Patrick Deserved More! | The Jassy Diaries

“Power is never given… it’s taken. And this finale definitely took my breath and left me in my feelings.”

Hey dudes and dudettes! 💕

let’s talk about Power Book ll -Ghost Season 4. It’s giving bittersweet cliffhanger energy, and honestly, I’m still processing! Like… Tariq deserved more, wand Cane, Man!😩

If you’re into Marvel-level storytelling with depth, action, and real character growth, this show is a must-watch. Even when it hurts (and whew, did it), the writing has always had purpose, intensity, and an element of surprise to keep us engrossed, but let's breakdown, the ending👇🏾✨

🎬 What I Loved:

👍🏾Tariq’s Growth Was Everything

This season really gave space for Tariq to shine as a young, strategic, and calculated kingpin, without walking directly in his father Ghost’s shadow. He moved smart, thought ahead, and played chess—not checkers. He made mistakes, sure, but he owned them. His grind was real and his heart? Way deeper than folks give him credit for. Tariq was the whole show. Period.

💌 Effie’s Redemption Arc

Can we give a little love to Effie finally growing into herself? Her apology, accountability, and softer side really showed this season. She and Cain lowkey make sense. He saw her and didn’t try to control her. It’s giving power couple potential, if they stay solid.

🧩 Cain’s Unexpected Depth

Cain was seriously slept on—but came back harder, smarter, and way more loyal than people thought. He had his moment, and I love that for him! It would be iconic to see him and Tariq team up in the future… maybe there’s hope?

😬 What Had Me Like “Hmm…”

🚫 Brayden’s Plot Twist

Brayden being written into addiction? Whyyy? He was solid, loyal, and more than his race or background. He saved Tariq multiple times and was always down—even when things were looking real grim. His drug storyline felt like a lazy way to add drama to someone who already brought so much to the table.

💀 Diana & Drew… Just Weren’t Giving

Let’s be real: Diana and Drew have been emotionally stuck since Season 2. Whether it was fighting for attention, being messy, or spiraling into nothingness, they were on a loop of insecurity. Diana shooting Anya? Wild and unnecessary, however, Noma reaped what she sowed through and caught up to her with her own daughter's death.

🪦 Monet: Cold but Real

Monet going out the way she did? Whew. Listen, she was NOT mother of the year (not even mother of the month 😅), but she went out protecting her children. That matters. Her loyalty to her kids never wavered, even if her methods were petty and dysfunction. RIP, Monet. You were a villain, but you were our villain.

🕵🏾‍♀️ The Mystery We’re Left With…

WHO was Tariq talking to at the end?! Was it Tommy? Ghost somehow? A whole new player? Power loves to throw curveballs and I’m ready for it.

There’s still so much left on the table, and if this truly is the end… I hope it’s more of a pause than a full stop. Because there’s still power to be taken and stories to be told, and Tariq’s story? Is far from over.

🎯 Final Thoughts:

Power: Book II was messy, bold, and full of layered storytelling. Not every move made sense, but the characters were complex and flawed in a way that kept us all guessing. If there’s a Season 5 or spin-off in the works, I’ll be watching with snacks and a journal, ready to unpack it all 💅🏾📺

Hope your day is going as sublime as your face

With Honest love always,

The Jassy Diaries 💖
