🎢 Fright Fest Was a Frightening
Mistake… | The Jassy Diaries 🖤✨
“Sometimes, God will shut it down to protect your peace, your spirit, and your time.”
Hey dudes and dudettes! 💕
So let me tell you about my first time back at Six Flags in a hot minute—and let’s just say: I should’ve stayed home with my blanket, Bible, and tea. Period. 😤☕📖
I was trying to keep an open mind when I decided to go to Fright Fest this year (even though I already knew deep down it was giving bad vibes). But y’all, when I say God made it clear it wasn’t it… whew 😩 Let’s just get into it.
🧟♀️Why Fright Fest Sucked (Hard):
1.The Wait Was Giving “Why Are We Even Here?”
The lines were ridiculously long for everything—rides, food, even trying to just walk through the park. AND most of the rides were shut down. Not to be dramatic… but it felt like we were all extras in a deleted scene from a horror movie with no plot 😬.
2.Weather? A Whole Hot Mess🌧.
Illinois really gave us ALL four seasons that day 😩. Cold. Windy. Raining. Miserable. It literally felt like God was trying to get us outta there ASAP, and I was ready to listen.
3.The Cleanliness? Nonexistent.
Tables? Dirty. Bathrooms? Filthy. Trash everywhere. People being too comfortable with their mess. It was giving post-apocalyptic… not spooky season.
4.Overcrowded + Over It.
Folks were literally bumping into each other with no direction. It felt like a chaotic fashion show of ego where people just wanted to say, “I went to Fright Fest,” without even enjoying it. It lacked joy, purpose, or fun. Just… people existing in each other’s way 🥴.
5.Faith Check — God Wasn’t In It.
This one is the realest.
Fright Fest glorifies darkness in a very obvious way—and honestly, I felt the spiritual disconnect the moment I walked in. The atmosphere felt off, and when the storms rolled in outta nowhere? That was my sign. Loud and clear. God wasn’t co-signing the energy of that place, and the moment the skies opened up and wind came rushing through, I felt it deep in my spirit:
“You don’t belong here. Go home.”
And that’s exactly what I did.
💡 So, Moral of the Story?
Six Flags is way better in the summertime when it’s light, warm, and full of that nostalgic joy. If you’re gonna go—get the Flash Pass, bring a cute fit, and prep to spend a little for a better experience. But skip Fright Fest, babe. It’s not worth your time, coins, or energy.

Six Flags Great America

Anyway, that’s my mini storytime for the week. Some lessons are learned through the ride, even if the ride… well… gets rained out 💅🏾😆
Hope your day continues to go as sublime as your face✨
With love always,
The Jassy Diaries 💖
